- referred to me by Mark Wang on 1/5/11.   Hired him to replace our old garage door - total $1200 (I chose a more expensive kind with windows and insulation.)  Work was done as scheduled and he cleaned all as he finished.

I called him twice after the work, when we were not able to close or open the garage door.  He came right away and helped us: first time replaced the old sensors, and the 2nd time just re-adjust the sensors to make sure they are in allighnment.

If you experience the same issue of not able to closing or open your garage door, always try to adjust the sensors on the bottom of the two sides first to make sure they are in allignment.

Fencing Company - now with negative feedback

My clients Qing & Sonny hired this fencing company in 2009 after getting several bids from a few local fencing companies.  They responded to calls on a timely manner, did the job as promised, cleaned up after work, and their bid was competitive. I scheduled the estimate appointment for them during escrow time, but the fencing company might not remember who I am though.

Let me know if you do hire them.  I'd like to track their performance to know if I shall continue to recommend them.

We have them replaced our fences with 3 neighbors, they were on time, did what had been agreed,  clean up afterwards. They offered a discount after I mentioned your name and Angie's list.  Overall I am happy with their service. With one exception that our side fence in the front, they used less good materials,  the color is not quite consistent as they promised.   Since it's done, I didn't bother to complain to them.

3/12/2015 - very negative feedback from a friend:
A friend who hired them based on my blog called me tonight . She was very upset by the service and the attitude of the owner.   According to her description, the owner didn't finish the work as requested, and was very rude when she requested him to complete it. I don't know if this business has changed owner or not, as the last client in 2014 still recommended them.  I was very sorry for her bad experience.  Any way,  I was going to remove this post but decided to keep it with the negative feedback so that you can see the record as you compare companies.
 

Property Tax - when it is due and where to view your bill on line

Property tax is due twice a year: First installment is late if not paid by 12/10, and 2nd installment is late if not paid by 4/10 the next year.  There will be expensive penalty if paid late.

Dr. Lande was Jade and Jason's first pediatrician since they were born and we all loved her directly.  I chose her after interviewing three pediatricians before Jade was due because of her warmth and professionalism.  We saw her for five years, were always happy with her, however, her facility changed into Kaiser in 2008 so we'd have to leave her.   If you have a Kaiser insurance, I'd strongly recommend her.

 We switched to this one after leaving Dr. Jane Lande.  There weren't  many choices for doctors accepting new patients.  We got Dr. Linda Chan.  She is a  Taiwanese, speaking Mandarin.  She is a friendly person too however I always feel that like the style of Dr. Lande more.   The good thing is that the facility is open on weekends for urgent care 8am-5pm, so when kids get sick on weekends, we don't need to go to emergency room like before.

Tree Removal

Here is the company I used for tree removal in my backyard in 2006.  If I remember correctly, total is $1100 including removing a big tree in the backyard (including stumps) as well as three small pine trees in the front yard.
